Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 23 July 2023:
A beautiful day in the bay filled with varying whale sightings. Our first trip of the day encountered two pairs of Humpback whales, one a very active adult and juvenile the other a shy cow/calf pair, the second trip of the day had a pair of Southern Right whales just on the south edge of our bay, both of them happy to log about and the third trip had a lone adult Southern Right whale moving through the shallower sections of the bay. All our trips today enjoyed visits to Dyer Island and Geyser Rock with the chance to see the African penguin and Cape fur seal.

One of the best-known whale species, they are renowned for their acrobatic behaviour and complex melodious song as well as extremely long flippers and are a special favourite of Dyer Island Cruises guests and crew alike.
