Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 26 May 2024:
Another incredible day out at sea for Dyer Island Cruises, we started our first trip by making our way all the way to Danger Point to make sure we didn’t miss any wildlife. We came across a large raft of African Penguins almost straight away. Shortly after we encountered a sunfish! And also luckily for us, we managed to find 2 Humpback whales. Even though, they were quite shy and elusive we managed to get a few glimpses of them. After that, we headed to Dyer Island and were incredibly lucky to come across another whale species: Bryde’s whale. We, as usual, enjoyed the Cape Fur seals by Geyser Rock and joined the shark cage diving vessel in the Shallows to see some stunning Bronze Whaler sharks. Our second trip was not less lucky, we also encountered a very friendly Humpback whale and spotted a big raft of African penguins on our way back to the harbour.
