Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 29 November 2023:
A beautiful sunny and warm day was ahead of us. We left Kleinbaai Harbour and cruised around the more shallow areas on a lookout for what we could find out there. Our first stop was our sister company Marine Dynamics and their Shark cage diving vessel Slashfin. Some very active Bronze whaler sharks impressed not just the divers in the cage but most certainly also our guests onboard. Moving on we headed over to Pearly Beach where it was unfortunately very quiet today. We left the area and headed over to Geyser Rock to pay the Cape fur seals a short visit. As usual, several Cape fur seals had fun in the water and some were relaxing on the island. Shortly after we headed back into the Shallows in our Bay where we encountered some Southern right whales! The two pairs we encountered were beautifully interacting with each other and even came closer to the boat to investigate a little. After spending some time with them we let them be and headed back to Kleinbaai Harbour. Thanks to everyone who joined us today!

With a local population of 60,000, it's no wonder our guests capture so many photographs of these wonderfully playful marine mammals.
