Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 31 March 2024:
Leaving Kleinbaai Harbour rather early today, we welcomed our guests on Dream Catcher and headed towards the natural estuary. Cruising further down the coastline on the lookout for any marine life in the area we ended up at the Shark Cage diving vessels. Stopping by Marine Dynamics vessel Slahsfin we got some brief views of the Bronze whaler sharks. After spending some time around their boat we decided to move on and headed further towards Pearly Beach. Shortly after arriving in the area, we spotted a Bryde’s whale! After getting some amazing views of this incredible species, we decided to let the whale be after it so beautifully swam alongside the boat. Heading over to the island system we visited the Cape fur seal colony. Geyser Rock was certainly busy today! Several seals were in the cool waters of Shark Alley. Of course, a stop at Dyer Island could not be missed. Some of the endangered African Penguins were sitting on top of the rocks enjoying the sun.
