Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 24 August 2023:
Finally, after a few days of being stuck on land due to the stormy weather, we got out there to enjoy the marine wildlife our area has to offer. There was a bit of a swell out there but it didn’t stop us from finding the animals. On the first tour of the day, we were incredibly fortunate to find Southern Right whales at Pearly Beach and couldn’t have asked for better sightings! We also swang by our sister company Marine Dynamics and were lucky to share some Bronze whaler action with the divers. For the second trip, we first stopped by Slashfin and enjoyed some sharks, and then straight to Pearly Beach where we were once again lucky to see a Southern Right whale. The third trip once again started with some sharky action and then we saw not one but four different Southern Right whales, some better than others. Our final trip was as successful as the previous ones with some incredible whale sightings.
On all of our trips, we visited Shark Alley and had incredible sightings of Cape Fur seals on and around Geyser Rock and even got glimpses of clumsy and adorable African Penguins on Dyer Island. Thanks to all who chose to have their marine adventure with us!

What species did we see today?
