Marine Big 5 Daily Bog 24 March

Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.

Trip Summary 24 March 2023:

Just outside the harbour in Kleinbaai we spotted sunfish slowly swimming below the surface. After having had a good look at the fish we moved on past the Uilenkraal estuary and along the coast to see the Bronze whaler sharks by the shark cage diving vessels. At Dyer Island, we released four penguins that have been at the African Penguin and Seabird Sanctuary. At Geyser Rock we watched the Cape Fur seals playing in the waters of the famous Shark Alley. The deeper waters behind the island were quiet today but closer to Danger Point we saw some Cape Gannets.
