Marine Big Daily Blog 06 February

Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.

Trip Summary 06 February 2023:

Just outside Kleinbaai, we spotted a juvenile penguin, after having a closer look we moved on along the coast. In the shallows, we saw cape fur seal feeding and made stopped at the shark cage diving boat to see some bronze whaler sharks and were lucky to see also some Storm Petrel. Before heading to the islands we searched through some deeper waters and found a couple of seabirds out there. Geyser Rock was packed with Cape fur seals but many more were having a swim in the waters around their colony. We also made two stops at Dyer Island to see the penguins and other birds that inhabit this protected area.
