More Whales! Marine Big 5 Daily Blog
Written by September 16 2021
Once again, we have been fortunate to encounter a couple of southern right whales in the Pearly Beach area. After about a 20min cruise and several stops for some penguins we spotted a couple of spouts and slowly approached the gentle giants in the coastal waters close to Pearly Beach. The whales were travelling relaxed alongside our vessel and one played briefly with a piece of kelp. Next, we made a stop in Shark Alley to see the Cape fur seals. After a close pass at Dyer Island, we cruised back to the coast, to see some Bronze whaler sharks at Slashfin. Along the coast before we were back in Kleinbaai we encountered another two whales, what a great day at sea!
What species did we see today?
