Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa – Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 05 July 2026:
We had a great morning, and our tour started with some penguins close to Danger Point. Not long after, we spotted a Bryde’s whale and a humpback whale in the deeper waters. On our way to the islands, we had another glimpse of a Bryde’s whale that quickly took a long dive. The waters around our Cape fur seal colony were busy, with many of them having a morning swim. At a closer look at Dyer Island, we saw more penguins and other seabirds. Our trip ended with a stop at the shark cage diving boats and a cruise home along the coastline.

What species did we see today?
