Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 19 November 2024:
Incredible trips but a rather early start. We headed straight to the Island System and Pearly Beach where we got to enjoy sleepy Cape fur seals on Geyser Rock, playful ones in the cool waters of Shark Alley and African Penguins on Dyer Island, who are busy changing their plumage. Just before the island, numerous Cape Cormorants were on their way out to sea on the lookout for some fish. In Pearly Beach, we haven’t had to spend too much time looking for whales. We saw quite a few Southern Right whales, some of them were quite close to shore, but we managed to get some lovely sightings as some decided to come a little closer! Heading into the Shallows we made our usual stop at Marine Dynamics Shark Cage diving vessel Slahsfin were active Bronze whaler sharks were investigating divers in the cage.
