Breaching whales! Marine Big 5 Daily Blog
Written by October 31 2020
Although we had some south-easterly wind blowing, we had a fantastic time at sea. We were heading along the coast and past Uilenkraalmond and De Clyde towards the Pearly Beach area. Close to the shore we spotted two pairs of Southern Right whales, and one calf was especially playful in the wind. In-between the several breached it did, the calf was rolling around and resting on its mothers back and belly. After a ten-minute drive we arrived in Shark Alley and watched the playful Cape Fur seals before heading back to Kleinbaai harbour. Todays sightings we will cherish for a long time.
