Bryde’s Whale! Marine Big 5 Daily Blog 12 March

Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.

Trip Summary 12 March 2022:

We had another lovely day before tomorrow’s wind and rain. At the shark cage diving boats, we had some really great looks at the bronze whaler sharks, the water has been calm and clear so we could see them gracefully moving through the water. Out in deeper waters, it was rather quiet at first with a couple of Sooty Shearwaters flying past, but just before we reached Shark Alley, we spotted a Bryde’s whale surfacing a few times. After a  visit to the Cape fur seal colony and African Penguins on Dyer Island, we started the journey back home to Kleinbaai harbour.
