Lots of life at sea! Marine Big 5 Daily Blog
Written by February 9 2021
We had another stunning say at sea with no wind and lots of sunshine. On todays tour we were cruising along the coast and were super lucky to find a sunfish, close to the surface, an encounter we don’t have a lot. Further along the way we spotted thousands of Cape cormorant fly past us towards Dyer Island and the deeper water we spotted more birds activity and a whole lot of Cape Fur seals. Shortly after we have seen so much wildlife, we spotted a Bryde’s whale travelling towards the feeding frenzy. Before heading back to the harbour, we passed Geyser Rock and Dyer Island as well as stopped at a cage diving boat to see a Bronze whaler shark. It has been a stunning day at sea with lots of life and great encounters.
What species did we see today?

The Bronze whaler (also known as Copper sharks) here in Kleinbaai are very curious and interactive. These sharks eat mostly fish, with sardines being one of their favourites.
