Marine Big 5 Daily Blog 04 March

Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.

Trip Summary 04 March 2023:

The day was overcast and a cool breeze at sea but we had a wonderful time onboard the Dream Catcher. In the coastal waters, we saw some Bronze whaler sharks around the shark cage diving boat. After crossing a reef system we stopped at Dyer Island to release four penguins back to their home and spotted a few more on the island itself. We also cruised through the famous Shark Alley and got to see plenty of cape fur seals. After a search through deeper water, we managed to find a Bryde’s whale close to Danger Point. and just before the rain started we were back in Kleinbaai harbour.
