Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 05 October 2023:
Another beautiful day out in the bay. We had a stunning and calm morning with the wind slowly picking up throughout the day and patches of rain here and there. The bay was filled with Southern right whales and even a sighting of the endangered Indian Ocean humpback dolphin in the morning. The Cape fur seals were plenty on Geyser Rock and in Shark Alley. Throughout the day we also spotted the endangered African Penguin out at sea and on Dyer Island itself. In the shallows close to the coast we could get some really nice and close-up looks at the beautiful Bronze Whales sharks.

What species did we see today?
