Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa – Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 06 November 2025:
Although we are having a few windy days, creating some choppy seas, we are still heading out and are fortunate to see some beautiful southern right whales in the Pearly Beach area. Although it was a bit of a struggle on some of our trips due to the swell, we had some beautiful sightings of them close to the coast, with some calves playful and rolling in the surf zone. We then ventured towards the islands where the Cape fur seals and African penguins were waiting for us. In shark alley, people were overjoyed at the sight of little seals as they played amongst the others. A stop by Dyer Island rewarded us with a good view of our endangered African penguins. The final stop of the day for some of our trips was in the Shallows, right near the shark diving vessels the local bronze whaler sharks were seen, making it a wonderful way to end the day.
