Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 10 October 2023:
Quite a windy day for us out at sea, but the wind didn’t stop us to go and see what’s out there! And were we lucky with some incredible sightings! All our tours got to see majestic Southern Right whales playing in the wind. As always we managed to make our way into Shark Alley to see the Cape Fur seals as they relaxed on Geyser Rock and refreshed themselves in the water of the Alley. We drove around Dyer Island to also have a closer look at the seabird colony, catching glimpses of the Endangered African penguin.
Thanks to all who decided to join us today on the marine adventure!

Southern right whales attract thousands of visitors every year to experience these gentle giants off the South African coast.
African Penguin African Penguin
As one of only 17 penguin species left in the world (and the only one on the african continent), the african penguin often breed in offshore colonies, such as Dyer Island.

With a local population of 60,000, it's no wonder our guests capture so many photographs of these wonderfully playful marine mammals.
