Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 11 January 2025:
It has been a great morning on a trip to the sea. Out in deeper waters beyond Danger Point, we spotted two Bryde’s whales and they were great to watch cruising relaxed alongside the vessel. After the whale encounter, we stopped at Dyer Island to see more penguins. After we briefly looked at some at sea, we visited Shark Alley to get a better look at the Cape fur seals. Many of the Cape fur seal pups were gathered at the waters edge to cool down on such a hot summers day. Back along the coastline and next to the shark cage diving boats we saw multiple bronze Whaler sharks alongside us and the cage. We had a great time at sea and hope the great sightings continue tomorrow!
