Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa – Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.

Trip Summary 13 April 2025

Today was a partly cloudy day; we departed from Gansbaai Harbour due to the low tide.  We started our journey at  Danger Point, where we saw our first whale spout. We then moved into deeper waters where we saw more Bryde’s whales, a few kilometers apart from one another.  The trip then headed to Geyser Rock and Dyer Island, where we saw our Cape fur seals and African Penguins. Right after seeing our local sea animals, we then moved to the Shark diving boat, where we got a brief look at the Bronze Whaler shark, and then we got to see the humpback dolphin near the coastline.
