Marine Big 5 Daily Blog 13 April

Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa – Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.

Trip Summary 13 April 2026:

The luck continues, and we had another great day on the water. All trips saw Bronze Whaler sharks, Cape fur seals, and the critically endangered African Penguin. Our first group was fortunate with a Bryde’s whale sighting behind Geyser Rock.  On the second trip, we managed to find some endangered Indian Ocean humpback dolphins close to shore, and to our surprise, we spotted some more near Dyer Island. After a longer search, we found a humpback whale towards the end of our second trip. Another successful day at sea!
