Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa – Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.

Trip Summary 13 November 2025:

Another day of marine adventures has come to an end here at Marine Dynamics. Leaving Kleinbaai Harbour behind us, we encountered Bronze whaler sharks passing the local Shark cage diving operators within the Shallows, an area popular for encountering different species of sharks. Pearly Beach, a hotspot for whales within season, did not disappoint today as a few pairs were spotted in proximity to one another. The island system, another mandatory stop, consisting of Dyer Island and Geyser Rock, offered views of the critically endangered African penguins basking in the sun and Cape fur seals swimming in the cool waters of Shark Alley. Some of our trips have also spotted the endangered Indian Ocean humpback dolphins once more!
