Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 14 October 2024:
After some storms further down south, we got wind and swell along the coast but this didn’t affect our sightings. During the tours today we spotted the majestic southern right whales along our beautiful coastline and got some great looks at them and their calm nature. After a visit to the shark cage diving boats, we made our way to the Cape fur seal colony and had a great time seeing so many of them as they are always playful around the boat. We also passed Dyer Island but couldn’t head too close due to the swell but still managed to see some seabirds on and around the island.
