Marine Big 5 Daily Blog 14 October

Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.

Trip Summary 14 October 2022:

Although we had some slight rain all day and a breeze blowing over the bay we had some really good sightings on all three trips. This morning we watched some southern right whales in Pearly Beach and were lucky to see a mother and her calf breaching several times. On the second and third tours, we could also witness some great interactions between the mothers and their calves. At Dyer Island, we spotted penguins and cormorants. There were also plenty of Cape Fur seals on Geyser Rock we could watch while slowly cruising through Shark Alley. Along the way, we also spotted the bronze whaler sharks at the cage diving boats.
