Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 19 February 2024:
Another great day at sea with wonderful sightings of marine life and sunny weather. Along the coast, we saw some Bronze Whaler sharks at the shark cage diving vessels. It’s great to see an ocean predator so close by and how graceful they move through the waters with ease. After crossing a reef system we continued into deeper areas of the bay. We of course also passed Geyser Rock, and what a delight seeing all the Cape fur seal pups now swimming in the famous Shark Alley. After a closer approach to Dyer Island and a better look at birds including the penguins. On our way back we came across some bait balls with a variety of seabirds around and even managed to see a Bryde’s whale.
