Marine Big 5 Daily Blog 23 December

Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa – Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.

Trip Summary 23 December 2025:

It has been another fantastic day at sea!
Although we had some rain in the morning, we had a great time on the two trips. At the shark cage diving boats, we could observe plenty of Bronze Whaler sharks. The waters around Danger Dyer Island were also busy, with plenty of Cape Cormorants and some penguins on the island itself. At Geyser Rock, the Cape fur seals colony, we could get some great looks and photos of them. In the deeper waters of the bay, we found some Bryde’s whales, and we’re super lucky to spot a small pod of common dolphins on our morning trip.
