Marine Big 5 Daily Blog 25 August

Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa – Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.

Trip Summary 25 August 2026:

We had an early start today, heading out onto the water as the day began. Throughout the day, we were treated to a variety of marine life sightings, making for a memorable time out at sea. Southern right whales were spotted in the area, along with humpback dolphins and playful common dolphins. The waters also gave us the chance to see Cape fur seals around the islands, while African penguins were spotted around Dyer Island. Adding to the excitement, Bronze whaler sharks were also seen during our trips, rounding off another fantastic day experiencing the incredible marine life of the Greater Dyer ecosystem.
