Marine Big 5 Daily Blog 31 October

Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.

Trip Summary 31 October 2022:

Today we had some cold winds from the South and the swell was picking up so we started the day early. On the first trip, we have been lucky to find some southern right whales just outside the harbour in Kleinbaai. That was followed by an encounter with humpback dolphins along the coast and bronze whaler sharks by the shark cage diving boats.

Our second tour started with the same group of dolphins and whales in Pearly Beach. While we were watching a mother and her calf another calf breached a few times just further off the boat. On both trips, we also cruised through Shark Alley to watch the Cape fur seals and had a closer look at the endangered African Penguin.
