Mating group of southern right whales! Marine Big 5 Daily Blog
Written by August 16 2021
Today we had two wonderful trips to sea. Our day started this morning with thousands of Cape Cormorants flying past us and some southern right whales close to the coast. On our way tot the island we spotted amating group and spend some more time with these southern right whales. On our second trip we have been lucky again to find the mating group that was still together and spend a good amount of time observing these gentle giants. Before we could reach the island on the second trip, we encountered a sunfish. And before heading back along the coast we stopped a t Dyer Island to see the endangered penguin and a couple of thousand Cape Fur seals on geyser Rock.
What species did we see today?
