Whales and more! Marine Big 5 Daily Blog

Today’s tour started with a stop at the shark cage diving boats, where we saw a few bronze whaler sharks. Shortly after leaving their boat Slashfin behind we spotted a southern right whale cow-calf pair, we have seen this mother over the last week in the Pearly Beach area already. As always, she and her calf were very relaxed alongside our vessel and we could get some really great looks at these gentle giants. Next, we slowly passed the Cape fur seal colony and although the island was fairly empty today, we got to see plenty of them and on our way back we stopped by Dyer Island for some penguins.
