Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa – Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 08 September 2026:
What a stunning day out at sea here with Marine Dynamics. Having a busy day ahead of us, we wasted no time. Throughout the day, we were lucky to have spotted almost all members of the Big 5 on all trips! Common dolphins were gracing our waters once again, bow-riding and breaching alongside the boat. Southern Right whale pairs were spotted in coastal waters on all trips too! Stopping by the island system, the critically endangered African Penguins were seen roaming Dyer Island or even seen swimming in the water up close. On such a warm day as today, the Cape fur seals of Geyser Rock were enjoying the cool waters of Shark Alley. Visiting the local Shark cage diving boats within the Shallows, most were able to get a glimpse of our beloved Bronze whaler sharks. Once again, thanks to everyone for joining our Marine Big 5 adventures!

What species did we see today?
