Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa – Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 15 April 2025:
We had a beautiful morning at sea with no wind but some swell. In the coastal waters, we managed to find one humpback dolphin travelling in the surf zone. we had some distant looks due to the swell rolling in, but saw it a couple of times. Further on, we saw the Bronze Whaler shark at our shark cage diving boat. At Dyer Island, we saw some of the critically endangered African penguin as well as terns and Cape Cormorants. The Cape fur seals, with their curious nature, were once again a highlight for many! Not long after we started our journey into the deeper waters, we found a Bryde’s whale, of which we got some great looks.

What species did we see today?
