Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 18 September 2023:
It was a wet and wild day out on the bay for our first day back on the sea after four days of heavy weather conditions. On our first tour, we were lucky to spot some southern right whales just outside Kleinbaai harbour. After watching them for a while we moved on to the Shallows, we were so lucky to see some Bronze Whaler action. On our way back to the harbour we spotted some at first skittish African penguins, and managed to get some nice sightings after all. Our second tour was just as lucky. We found the whales in Joubertsdam Bay which saved us a trip to Pearly Beach. Once again Slashfin provided us with some lovely Bronze Whaler sightings around the cage and then we headed straight to the island system and saw some Cape Fur seals at Geyser rock.
