Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 03 August 2022:
We had three phenomenal trips aboard Dream Catcher today, each one just as amazing as the last! On our first two trips today we spent some time with a beautifully calm pair of Southern Right Whales and on trip number three we were blessed with a beautiful Humpback Whale sighting. Across all trips, we witnessed some brilliant Bronze Whaler shark action around our shark cage diving vessel, Slashfin. We also paid a visit to the world-famous Shark Alley on all trips today where we enjoyed the ever-playful, 60,000-strong Cape Fur seal colony on Geyser rock! We stopped by Dyer Island where we were able to spot some endangered African Penguins on land as well as African Oyster Catchers and Egyptian Geese. We had some incredible bird sightings on all our trips today including; various Terns diving amongst a school of Yellowtail, Shy Albatross, Giant Petrels, Cape Gannets, Sub Antarctic Skuas, and a large aggregation of approximately 20,000 Cape Cormorants on trip three! All in all, a perfect day out at sea for our guests and crew alike. A big thank you to everyone who joined us on board today, we hope you thoroughly enjoyed your Marine Big 5 experience with us!
