Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 30 March 2023:
We launched into a calm bay and made our way along the coast to see the Bronze whaler sharks at the shark cage diving boats. We had some great looks at several Bronze whaler sharks before starting our journey to Dyer Island. At Dyer Island we saw some of the endangered African Penguins and close by at Geyser Rock we saw plenty of Cape fur seals. In the deeper waters behind the island, we first saw a sunfish and later came across two Bryde’s whales. We were lucky and got some great looks at the mother and her calf swimming relaxed alongside our vessel. Almost back in the harbour we made a stop for a couple of seabirds catching fish.

With a local population of 60,000, it's no wonder our guests capture so many photographs of these wonderfully playful marine mammals.
