Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 08 August 2022:
Four fantastic trips today aboard Dream Catcher! On trips 1, 2 and 3 we were so incredibly lucky to spend some time with a pair of beautifully calm Southern Right whales who displayed some brilliant behaviour such as; spy-hopping, logging and fluking. On trip number four we had to exercise a little more patience while searching for whales however, we were certainly rewarded when we eventually found a phenomenal pair of Humpback whales who were very active on the surface with lots of fluking action!
Throughout the rest of the day, we enjoyed our ever-inquisitive, 60,000-strong Cape Fur seal colony on Geyser Rock on even spotted our endangered African Penguins both on Dyer Island and in the water! By our shark cage diving vessel, Slashfin, we witnessed some great Bronze Whaler shark action as well as a Short-Tail stingray on trip number 2. The fantastic birdlife in the area certainly did not disappoint today with sightings of Cape Gannets, Shy Albatross, various diving Terns and thousands of Cape Cormorants!
A very big thank you to all who joined us on board today, it was a pleasure having you with us!
