Southern right whale! Marine Big 5 Daily Blog 03 December
Written by December 3 2021

Due to some winds picking up throughout the day we launched slightly earlier than usual. Just outside Kleinbaai harbour we were surprised to find a southern right whale cow calf pair, and what a great encounter it was. The calf was breaching several times while its mother was relaxed alongside the vessel. Shortly after leaving the whales behind we encountered a small raft of 5 penguins before seeing some sharks at the cage diving boat. After a ride to and around Dyer Island we spent some time with the Cape fur seals before returning back to Kleinbaai.
