Daily Trip Update, 11 November 2019

Today, we were fortunate to encounter some of our Marine Big 5 animals. Our Birds were fantastic, displaying their beautiful plumage. The Southern Right Whales made their appearance in our bay, Our African Penguin colony were having fun in the sun, the Bronze Whaler sharks were gliding around in the water in front of the shark cage diving vessels and our Cape Fur Seal colony was a hive of activity. We had a lovely day out at sea with beautiful sightings.

The Bronze whaler (also known as Copper sharks) here in Kleinbaai are very curious and interactive. These sharks eat mostly fish, with sardines being one of their favourites.
African Penguin African Penguin
As one of only 17 penguin species left in the world (and the only one on the african continent), the african penguin often breed in offshore colonies, such as Dyer Island.
