Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 01 March 2023:
We had another wonderful day out in the bay, which started off with a sighting of a sunfish along the shallow waters of the bay. After a stop to see the Bronze whaler sharks at the shark cage diving boat, we moved on to Dyer Island to see some penguins and after a few passes at the Cape fur seals, we continued into the deeper waters of the bay. The deeper areas were filled with a great variety of coastal and pelagic seabirds including various shearwaters, Cape Gannet, Cape Cormorant, Greater Crested Tern and many more. Close to Danger Point we got lucky to see a Bryde’s whale before we returned back to the harbour.
