Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa – Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 21 September 2025:
After a day of not heading out due to bad weather conditions, we were finally back at sea and eager for another marine adventure. A few trips went out today, with some launching from Gansbaai Harbour because of low tide in our bay. The ocean treated us kindly with calm conditions, and the sightings did not disappoint. In the bay, a few pairs of southern right whales were spotted, giving people a nice close look at the guardians of the ocean. After enjoying time with the whales, our trips headed to the shark cage diving vessels to give the Bronze whaler sharks just as much attention. Our route made its way to Dyer Island and Geyser Rock, with one of our trips being treated by a surprise visit from Egyptian geese.
