Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 27 March 2023:
We still had some east wind as we launched but nevertheless, the sightings were great. After we saw some Bronze whaler sharks around the shark cage diving boat we moved passed a reef into the deeper waters of the bay. As we were about to head towards the islands, our spotter Kira, saw a spout of a whale and we were extremely lucky to encounter a Byrde’s whale mother and her calf. after this great sighting, we moved on to see the Cape fur seal and the endangered African Penguin on Dyer Island. What a day at sea!
