Whale Watching near Cape Town, South Africa Welcome to Gansbaai, home of the Marine Big 5.
Trip Summary 7 November 2022:
Today we had a breeze from the west and a lot of sunny weather. On the first tour, we spotted a whale just outside the harbour and more in Pearly Beach. One of the calves was playful and breaching several times. On the second and third tour, we also have been lucky to find southern right whales in the Pearly Beach area. We encountered a beautiful calf with a white mark on its back that also showed off on our last tour. At Slashfin we saw bronze whaler sharks passing up and down in front of the cage through the clear water. On all trips, we also saw the Cape fur seals in Shark Alley and Geyser Rock and watched the endangered African penguins at Dyer Island.
